On behalf of the members of the Xi Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, I welcome you to our chapter's website!  For over 30 years, Xi Delta Omega has been committed to providing programs that benefit Harford County~Maryland and also providing service to all mankind since our chartering in April 1982.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. was founded in 1908.  It is the first Greek-lettered organization founded by college-educated, African-American women.  From its humble beginnings at Howard University more than a century ago to its global footprint today, it is with great pride that the members of Xi Delta Omega continue to advance the legacy of our founders.
Under the leadership of our 29th International President, Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® remains a vital 21st-century service organization that addresses some of the greatest human rights, civil rights, and social issues in our society today. The sorority's 2014-2018 International Program Initiative under the platform of  Launching New Dimensions of Service will address community needs with programs in five target areas:

  • Educational Enrichment
  • Health Promotion
  • Family Strengthening
  • Environmental Ownership
  • Global Impact

In addition to our community service projects, Xi Delta Omega Chapter has provided approximately over  $100,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors to assist with college education costs.  We continue to build upon the vision of our dear founders as we have been entrusted with a great legacy.

I cordially invite you to our programs, events, and activities as we work together to advance the mission of our organization.

Best Wishes,

Crystal Barney
